Douce Memoire: 16th century hits
Liede, Chansons, Madrigals, Dances and grounds 1500–1600 for Renaissance lute
Nigel North’s delicate mastery of the lute harkens the 16th century with astonishing technical genius and artistic consideration.
Initially inspired at the age of seven by the early 60's instrumental pop group "The Shadows," North studied classical music through the violin and guitar, eventually discovering his real path in life, the lute, when he was 15. Largely self-taught on the lute, North has become one of the most sought-after masters of his instrument and has been playing and teaching for nearly 50 years.
