Sergio Tabanico is a tenor saxophonist based in New York City. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Tabanico came to New York in 2015 to study at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2019. He is currently attending the Juilliard School, where he will earn his master's in 2023.
Tabanico now performs in New York leading his own group, and as a sideman in others’. He’s worked extensively with vibraphonist Joel Ross, including performances and co-composing music for his latest album The Parable of the Poet. Tabanico has also shared the stage with Adam O’Farrill, Slauson Malone (Jasper Marsalis), June McDoom, Helado Negro, and Samora Pinderhughes.
